Vacation - My Blog

Well if you didn't know already I'm currently on 'vacation' in the hot and sunny Phoenix, Arizona. The hardest decision before I left was which camera to take? In the end I settled on the lightest possible but still have excellent image quality. I therefore went for the Mamiya RB67 lol not! Made the mistake taking that hiking once. If you don't know the Mamiya is a medium format beast which I love using for personal high end projects. I actually decided on my Sony Nex C3 camera. The Nex has a DSLR APS-C 16MP sensor but it's tiny due to its mirrorless design. I also took my 18-55mm kit lens which is good for landscapes and general stuff, the 50mm f1.4 with the DSLT adaptor so I can get phase detect autofocus and shoot low light images and finally the old Minolta manual focus 135mm f2.8 prime being small and light but giving me that telephoto if I need it. I have attached a few of my images below.

I have also started to dabble in video. With convergence between stills and video starting to play a major part I thought I would give it a go. Now I know none of its great but its a start.
All of my kit was wrapped up in my new think tank retrospective 7 bag and accompanied by my new iPad 3 for stills and video editting.
